Local Control Workshop

Workshop: Protecting Locally Enacted Health, Economic, Environmental & Civil Rights Gains

Monday, December 7, Omni Shoreham Hotel, 2500 Calvert Street, NW, Washington, DC

Across America, efforts to enact new city and county health, safety, workplace and environmental ordinances are the focus of a growing trend: they are being preempted by state legislation that undermines local democracy.

As a local or state official or as an advocate, the increased use of state preemption directly affects your community and work.

That’s why the Mayors Innovation Project, the State Innovation Exchange and the Rockefeller Family Fund hosted a daylong workshop on maintaining local control.
